United States New York – Your travel destination?
New York is divided into five districts. Here is the names and their respective population:
- Manhattan (New York County), 1.61 million;
- Bronx (Bronx County), 1.36 million;
- Brooklyn (Kings County), 2.5 million;
- Queens (Queens County), 2.25 million;
- Staten Island (Richmond County), 480000
Although many people tend to imagine the Big Apple as a cluster of modern skyscrapers, visiting the city you will be amazed at the diversity of its architecture. It is different in each region, with green areas, beginning with Central Park, beautiful bridges linking Manhattan to other districts, and the colorful ethnic neighborhoods.
New York is comprised of five districts, Manhattan and Staten Island occupy the islands that bear their names, Brooklyn and Queens are situated in the western portion of Long Island (“Long Island”, southeast of Manhattan) and Bronx, the continent is north of Manhattan.
Most of the city is flat, but Staten Island, less populated, is raised a little rough. In Manhattan, the smallest and most densely populated boroughs, concentrates on the main tourist attractions. Look at the map to understand: the island is bordered by the Hudson River on one side and the East River on the other. To the north, the Harlem River separates it from the continent.
